SMS Terms and Conditions Updated 1.1.26

Introduction LITD Trauma Counseling (“We,” “Our,” “Us”) is committed to ensuring the highest standards of service and transparency when communicating with clients via SMS (text messaging). By using our SMS services, clients agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. This document serves as a comprehensive guide to our policies, practices, and client rights related to SMS communication.

1. Communication Policy We value client privacy and uphold strict confidentiality in all communications. Clients opt in when they provide their mobile number and check the SMS consent box on our website contact forms. Consent includes agreeing to the terms in this policy.

2. Message Frequency Clients can expect up to four (4) SMS messages per month, depending on appointment coordination and client needs.

We do not send marketing or unsolicited messages. Texting is used for essential communication only, such as:

  • Scheduling or confirming appointments
  • Addressing client-initiated inquiries
  • Providing relevant session updates as necessary

3. Opt-In and Opt-Out Clients may opt-in to receive SMS messages by providing their mobile number and checking an explicit SMS consent checkbox on our website forms. The checkbox disclosure states that by checking it the client agrees to receive SMS related to scheduling and care coordination, that message and data rates may apply, that message frequency is limited (up to 4 messages/mo), and that they may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for support. Clients must take this action voluntarily before being sent SMS messages.

4. Data Privacy and Security LITD Trauma Counseling takes data privacy seriously. SMS communications are handled with the same level of confidentiality as other forms of client correspondence. However, clients should be aware that SMS is not a fully secure method of communication. Sensitive or detailed personal information should not be shared via SMS.

5. Fees and Charges LITD Trauma Counseling does not charge clients for receiving or sending SMS messages. Standard message and data rates from the client’s mobile carrier may apply.

6. Limitations of Liability While we strive to provide reliable SMS services, LITD Trauma Counseling is not responsible for any technical failures or transmission delays that may occur outside of our control. Additionally, SMS communication should not be used in emergency situations.

7. Changes to Terms We reserve the right to modify these SMS Terms and Conditions at any time. Any updates will be reflected on our website and communicated as necessary.
