Licensed Master Social Worker • Trauma Counselor

Gates provides compassionate, reflective counseling support for clients navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

About Gates

Gates works with young adults who are carrying chronic stress — the kind that builds up quietly over time when life keeps making demands and nobody slows down long enough to notice the weight. She has a particular heart for college students, those struggling with addictions, and people in trades and service work who are capable, resilient, and quietly running on empty. She also brings healing to families locked in relational conflict with a special focus on blended family challenges and those formed by adoption.

Her approach is practical and direct. She doesn’t believe therapy has to be complicated to be effective. She brings energy, honesty, and a genuine interest in helping people understand what’s actually happening — and what to do about it.

She earned her Master of Social Work from Texas A&M University–Commerce and brings clinical experience from correctional mental health, crisis intervention, and community-based settings. Working with individuals in high-stress and crisis environments has deepened her understanding of how trauma impacts emotional regulation, relationships, and overall well-being.

Counseling Approach

Gates is compassionate, reflective, and deeply attentive. She has a presence that helps people feel safe enough to exhale, sometimes for the first time in a long while. If you’ve been carrying tension, navigating conflict, or feeling stretched thin, she offers a supportive space where you don’t have to hold it all together.

Gates understands how prolonged stress can impact relationships and overall well-being. She believes therapy should feel respectful, supportive, and empowering. In her view, healing happens in a consistent and meaningful way, restoring clarity, confidence, and stability over time. She considers it an honor to walk alongside her clients as they find light in seasons that once felt overwhelming.
